My first full day in Germany started with the realisation that I am more than half way to Itzehoe. Approx 500 miles down – just over 400 to go.
To be honest, this was not the most enjoyable exit from a motorway service station. Hopefully the traffic will be kind to me tomorrow!
German holiday traffic all the way from De Panne, countless lorries, the first traffic jam was before I even made it to the motorway!
I normally find that by mid-late May the weather in Germany is warm and Sunny – perhaps the odd thunderstorm. I was lucky last year to get temperatures of 30°c down in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria. This year I won’t be that far South so I don’t think I’ll get quite that! But I hope that, in travelling the last weekend in May, I will get some decent weather. Continue reading
