I normally find that by mid-late May the weather in Germany is warm and Sunny – perhaps the odd thunderstorm. I was lucky last year to get temperatures of 30°c down in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria. This year I won’t be that far South so I don’t think I’ll get quite that! But I hope that, in travelling the last weekend in May, I will get some decent weather. Continue reading
After breakfast at the hotel this morning, I headed in to Schwerin’s City Centre and walked through the Altstadt (old town) to the Schweriner Schloß.
As we head in to October the weather turns colder and I begin to wish I was living in a warmer country.

Last weekend I spent some time in Cirencester’s German twin town of Itzehoe, which is located in the country’s northern most Bundesland (Federal State): Schleswig-Holstein.
What a busy couple of weeks. Twice a year we do stocktake at work – I’ve done 7.5 hours of overtime in the last week.
As I write this evening, I am sitting at home after my second day back at work since my trip to Germany.
Yesterday – my last full day in Germany – I decided to do a day trip to Salzburg, just over the German/Austrian border, and just under 2 hours away by train.
Yesterday, my German started coming back to me. It’s very rusty, as I’ve not spoken German properly for 3-4 years.
