As I write this evening it is the end of a relaxing few days off work β just enjoying not being in the office for a while.
Saturday was a very busy day as I cooked a 3 course Greek meal and served it to my closest family and friends β namely: my parents, Corrie, Jody, and of course my best friend Anne-Marie.
I was up at the crack of dawn baking bread β making a delicious honey cake (a bit like a cheesecake) β and then making my own gouvetsi (a sort of beef stew).
It was a very enjoyable day and I had great company with me to help eat the food.
Thereβs plenty of leftovers so Iβll be living on those for much of the next week (not that Iβm complaining).
It tired me out so I fell asleep on the sofa in front of the fire fairly soon after everyone left and I slept well last night!
If thatβs what hosting guests for dinner does, Iβll have to do more of it! Iβve got enough friends that I count amongst my list of βclosest friendsβ that I would love to invite over, that if I have one person over each month throughout 2022, each one can come twice in the year. Plenty of company for me, without overloading friends with βtoo much Fredβ.
