It was cooler today; clouds had taken over and we even had a couple of short, light rain showers. Just as I was drying off after a swim and thinking it was time for another, it rained a little and cooled me down.

Unlike the larger boats which run trips from Nydri, the M/S Christina takes just 55 passengers, and each passenger has a sunbed for relaxing. You are journeying in comfort and style!

This morning we drove to the Dimossari Waterfalls/Kαταρράκτες Δημοσάρη near…

This is the beach we came to on the bus a couple of weeks ago but today there was less wind so it was swimmable. Before our swim however we walked along the beach to see what we could find. There was a nice breeze to stop us getting too hot as well today!

After swimming a couple of times in the Ionian’s turquoise waters we went for a walk along the road. The beach is actually quite long so there are several places you can go to get away from people if you want a quiet bit of beach.

The centre of the village is entirely pedestrianised. The bus dropped us by the main road close to the barrier. We wandered down the main street, past all the tavernas, bars and cafés. At the bottom we found the main beach. By the time we arrived it was lunch time so we found a café to get something to eat and drink.

Dessimi/Δεσίμη was our chosen beach for the day, just a short drive towards the South. The beach has a couple of trees towards the back, lots of little boats and a café serving hot dogs, pita gyros and drinks just off the beach.

After breakfast this morning we checked out of the hotel, leaving our luggage in their store room to collect later. We headed down on to the Underground to go and spend our last morning in Central Athens.

We left the Underground at Syntagma/Σύνταγμα and walked through the Kolonaki/Κολωνάκι district, going up Ploutarchou/Πλουτάρχου Street until we reached the cable car which goes up the mountain.

We spent the afternoon down on the “Athens Riviera” coast, down by Glyfada/Γλυφάδα.
