Jรคger came into my life at a time when I was already learning a great deal about myself through Equine Assisted Therapy – about presence, boundaries, trust… how animals respond to energy and emotion is a big part of that. Without consciously trying to, I found myself applying so much of what I was learning there to Jรคger. Socialising and Birthday Break in Devon

On Sunday morning, I locked the house, got in the car, and followed the same route Mum & Dad had taken the night before, to get to Holsworthy in Devon, where we’d stay until Tuesday. We had a lovely self-catering cottage (barn conversion) on a farm just outside the village – on the main road going towards Bude. Outside the cottage there are fishing lakes (for Dad) and the family also run Holsworthy Golf Club. Continue reading

Baguettes

My recipe made 4 small baguettes which worked well. The dough for baguettes is wetter and sticker than when I am making normal loaves of bread, hence the mixer (imagine the mess I’d make in the kitchen doing it by hand!) Continue reading

Cycling Challenge

My target – keeping the number 7 in mind – is a minimum of 70km over the course of the week (meaning a minimum of 10km a day). I’ll track my cycling – and my practice routes – on the Strava app on my phone. If I can do more that’s a bonus. Continue reading
