Yesterday I drove up to the Roseland Peninsula. Although just a mile from Falmouth, because of the river mouth it is 30 miles by road. Unfortunately the public transport links don’t quite link up with where I need them to in this part of Cornwall, compared to down on the Lizard or further towards Land’s End – more careful planning of walks needed in future. Wednesday’s coast path walk was Helford Passage to Falmouth. Reaching Falmouth feels like quite a milestone as really it is the first large town along the path since Penzance – and Penzance was where I was walking in February 2022. Continue reading

Friday was my last day in Cornwall but before setting off for home I had one more walk to do. After leaving the cabin I set off for Lizard – a short drive away. I parked on the village green, and got the bus to Mullion Cove for the start of the walk. Continue reading
Porthleven was the start of today’s walk. I set off as soon as I got off the bus. The first part of the walk from Porthleven follows the road along the sea front in the town, then follows the cliffs above the beach. Continue reading
I was slightly delayed in leaving this morning as I had the slight problem of getting the cat out – Squiggles had curled up on the chair in the cabin and gone to sleep! As I write, I’ve once more lost the comfy chair as it is now occupied by the cat, who jumped out of nowhere after I parked and was at the front door before I was! Continue reading
