Panathenaic Stadium
One interesting site I went to last time I visited Athens was the Panathenaic Stadium/Ξ Ξ±Ξ½Ξ±ΞΈΞ·Ξ½Ξ±ΟΞΊΟ Ξ£Οάδιο. Built of marble, it dates back to 330 BC and the stadium hosted the first Modern Olympic Games in 1896.

After breakfast this morning Corrie and I took a taxi from Lygia to the bus station (the ΞΞ€ΞΞ terminal) in Lefkadaβs main town. Shortly after 09:30 we departed on the coach for a weekend away in the Greek capital Athens.
This morning after breakfast we took the bus from Lygia in to Lefkada/ΞΞ΅Ο ΞΊΞ¬Ξ΄Ξ±, the main town on the island near the bridge which connects the island to the mainland.
Just beyond the harbour is Lygiaβs main beach. At one end is a hotel, and closer to the harbour is the end of the beach with sunbeds, a couple of bars, and a small bit of beach with the trees… Continue reading
Holiday time again! This year we’re staying for the first time in Lefkada/ΞΞ΅Ο ΞΊΞ¬Ξ΄Ξ±. For the next 2 weeks we’ll stay in an apartment in Lygia/ΞΟ Ξ³ΞΉΞ¬, which lies on the East coast of Lefkada, opposite the mainland.
I was amazed that, even in a city like Athens which gets very large numbers of tourists each month, the waiter in the restaurant remembered me from my last visit there! I only ate there once β he must have… Continue reading
