The capital of Syros β Ermoupoli (ΞΟΞΌΞΏΟΟολη) β is also the capital of the South Aegean Region. Until the local government reforms of 2011 which saw the Prefectures abolished, Ermoupoli was also the capital of the Cyclades Prefecture.
