On Monday I went on a day trip to Basildon Park, a lovely National Trust property in Lower Basildon, Berkshire.
I love the interior of the house – modernised by Lord and Lady Iliffe in the 1950s. My favourite rooms are the red ‘Octagon’ Room, and the ‘Green Drawing Room’.
When I’ve been in the past I’ve not had time to walk around the grounds, so this time I did that for the first time. The grounds are extensive and there are a number of walks you can do nearby.
