I was in Gloucester this weekend so I went to see the Knife Angel by the cathedral.
It has been touring the UK since 2018 and is made up of over 100,000 knives seized by the police. The knife angel was created to highlight knife crime and educate people on the dangers of violent behaviour and any town or city hosting it has to commit to 30 days of intensive anti-violence education programmes and workshops for young people in their areas.
Throughout February it has been in Gloucester but has previously been in Slough and Milton Keynes. At the time of writing it is in Guildford, and is due to move later in the year to Bradford, Crewe and Ipswich – with dates to be confirmed for Swindon, Harrogate, Weymouth and Piccadilly, London.
Take a look at my photo gallery below. There is more information about the Knife Angel on the British Iron Work Centre website.
