The first half of my final year at uni is complete – and I am back home for Christmas for the next 4 weeks.
It has been quite a busy first semester: As well as doing all my university assignments…
- I spent a week in Brussels and visited the European Parliament.
- I ran the technical side of things at the Corinium Radio broadcast in November – and I presented the Weekend Breakfast Show.
- My show on Tone Radio returned to their airwaves for its 5th series.
- I was elected Head of News at Tone Radio, gaining 77% of the vote.
Last weekend I celebrated my 21st birthday, and on Tuesday my family went to the Charing Cross Hotel in London for ‘Fawlty Towers…The Dining Experience‘ – which was very funny… The actors coped very well with Dad winding them up, shouting “Oy, Bas, is there any more” across the room, or asking for more bread, or for a Waldorf Salad, or mentioning the war!
Over the Christmas break I do have quite a few things to do… I could do with finding some work experience, and maybe a job for when I’ve finished uni. I’ve got an Extended Essay (4000 words) on radio news which needs to be done by January 15th.
I’m also thinking of spending some time in Greece over the Summer – so I could do with planning that. And on that note…does anyone have any suggestions as to where I could stay? (It needs to be somewhere relatively cheap. Looking at a couple of places in Athens and Thessaloniki at the moment.)
I’d better get back down to the kitchen now… In the middle of baking a loaf of bread, should be nearly ready for me to shape it and get it ready to go in the oven soon.
