A new term has started at the University of Gloucestershire and I was back on my student radio station, Tone Radio this evening.
Tonight’s show was the first of my shows to come from the brand new Tone Radio studio, which is equipped with the Enco DAD computer system. My jingles and beds can now be accessed not just in the Tone studio but also in the RAP rooms too… might be useful in the future!?
The way the Tone studio is set up means that, in order to start my show, I set one of my instrumental pieces of music playing on the Enco PC, before running in to the Jazler studio to put the fader up on the desk which sends the output of the Enco studio out to broazcast. Then I ran back in to the Enco studio to formally start my show with a jingle and get the music going.
That didn’t quite go according to plan for 2 reasons.
- I have never used that particular Enco studio before – only the one in the RAP rooms – and it took be about 5/10 minutes to work out what all the buttons did.
- I neglected to set up the keyboard shortcuts which control the music on my (new) laptop correctly, meaning certain things didn’t work as I intended them to at first.
