The clocks change tonight and we head in to the darkness of the Winter months. That makes staying indoors wrapped in a blanket, playing my favourite music on the radio, quite an attractive option!
My show took a short break during August and September while I was on holiday, and I was back on air in mid September: Refreshed for the Winter months ahead. Many of August’s planned themes then took place a few weeks late – but they made it on air.
I particularly enjoyed writing the different themes and jingles for my Back from Greece show which airred on 14th September. If you’re in to modern chart music, Decades Night in September looked at the Noteable Noughties – Sounds of the ’00s. My favourite October theme was As Heard On TV – an excuse to fit in a few vintage TV themes plus songs made big through use in TV shows and adverts.

In to November…
November will be a busy month for my show, with 5 Monday evening shows to fill with different themes (as well as 4 Saturday morning shows).
Here’s what November’s on-air themes look like:
Monday 2nd November 2026: Bonfire Night
Songs about fire, fireworks, flames, sparks, explosions and light.
Monday 9th November 2026: Off the Wall
Marking the 37th Anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall with German music, and songs about the wall & freedom.
Monday 16th November 2026: Odd One Out
Odd Socks Day: Musical eccentrics, unlikely hits, unusual instruments and unconventional artists.
Monday 23rd November 2026: Time Travellers
Time travel, clocks, the past, the future and songs about time. Marking the anniversary of the first broadcast of Doctor Who.
Monday 30th November: Tartan Takeover
To mark St Andrew’s Day, a show full of Scottish musicians, singers, bands, songwriters and producers.
I’ll also be on the air every Saturday: 9am to 11am.
All shows streamed live online at www.FredOnTheRadio.uk and available on Listen Again afterwards.
Have a great weekend,
FH.
