My therapist is still on holiday this week so I went on another day trip to visit horses – this time I went to Somerset to visit a World Horse Welfare centre; Glenda Spooner Farm near Somerton.
The farm has indoor stables where I was able to watch and say hello to some of the horses. There are also 3 different walking routes you can do around the farm, through the fields all of which are full of rescue horses and ponies.
My favourite horse was Toby, who at 30 years old is in great condition! Lily-Rose felt so relaxed as I stroked her over the gate in to her stable; And I enjoyed making friends with some of the horses outside too.
I also had lunch in their café (which also does good cakes). I had the biscoff cake, and their 3-layered brownie.
Back to normal next week – my therapist is back (and I’ll be able to tell her all about all the horses I’ve met during her absence).
FH.
