Safely back home in Cirencester, I enjoyed sight-seeing on Sunday before I left Surrey.
After I’d left the cabin I wandered up for one last feeding of the horses, who were so pleased to see me. There’s a friend for life in this field. Can you tell which one!?

Afterwards I drove just 20 minutes down the road to visit the Gatwick Aviation Museum. Located on the boundary of Gatwick, the museum has many vintage aircraft on display – it also has a Typhoon simulator ride, a Virgin Atlantic A350 Upper Class Cabin, previously used to train cabin crew.

I also enjoyed spending some time sitting in the viewing area watching the many aircraft taking off and landing at Gatwick.

Afterwards I drove in to Cranleigh, the village in which Granny and Grandpa lived in the 1950s, and where Mum spent her early childhood.
I had lunch at a local cafe (the owner of which knows Cirencester – small world!) – some very tasty pork & apple sausages then chocolate fudge cake with ice cream.
I wandered down the Horsham Road (the one drove in on) to find the house Granny and Grandpa once lived in, and walked back up towards the centre back to the car, to drive back home to Gloucestershire.
Cranleigh seems quite a nice village – worth visiting again. There’s an exhibition on about the old railway line (closed 60 years ago) later this month so I might go to that.

Really enjoyed my weekend in Surrey – lovely area of the country and hope to be back soon.
