Bermeo to Angoulins
I loved waking up in the Spanish mountains this morning, sunlight pouring through the window. Breakfast provided by the B&B this morning was toast with olive oil, some jam, ham and cheese, a slice of cake, orange juice and a hot chocolate.
I stayed for a bit and sat on the balcony reading. I felt a bit sad when I had to leave – saying goodbye to the cats and the dogs. Only one night and I love the place already. I must come back soon. I drove down to Mundaka to have a swim at the beach. Loved that! The water was warm. Wish I could have stayed longer but I had to get on the road.
Then it was time to hit the road. I left a little after 13:30, and at 15:30 I arrived at the French border – I stopped at the seaside resort of Hendaye, directly the opposite the Spanish beach I stopped at on the way down last week.
I briefly popped back in to Spain to fill up with fuel at the petrol station next to San Sebastian Airport, just 3km away (petrol being cheaper in France by €0,40) before getting back on the road.
The rest of the afternoon/evening was filled with mainly motorway driving, a stop for dinner at a French services, and made it to my final overnight stop of the holiday, just after 9.30 in the evening.
A long drive tomorrow back to Dieppe, to get the overnight ferry home.
Holiday almost over 🙁
