I’ve spent much of the last couple of days on the road, driving to Scotland for a week long holiday in the Outer Hebrides.
At just under 500 miles the German border is closer to home than where I am now!
I’m keeping this blog short because my room’s quite warm and I want to get out in to the fresh air again.
Yesterday I stopped at Balloch Caslte Country Park at the southern end of Loch Lomond. It is a nice place to get out of the car for a walk after many hours on the motorway.
It took a further 2 hours to get to Oban – entirely off the motorway on some lovely roads to drive on through rural Scotland.
This morning I wake up in Oban, in the Argyll & Bute region, where later today I get the ferry to the Isle of Barra.
The Sea looks so calm here!
Going to spend some time sitting in the sunshine taking in the fresh coastal air before then.
