Day Trip to Swansea

It wasn’t originally my plan this weekend to go down to Swansea – but on Saturday Mum and I drove down to see my sister (and to bring some of her things back from uni).

Traffic wasn’t great so it took us 3 hours to get there, after which we needed lunch. We went to the George in the Mumbles, and with a sea view I had a beef and ale pie. The weather was good so after lunch we went for a walk in the Mumbles, going over to the lighthouse which can only be accessed at low tide.

On the way back we stopped off at Gloucester Services – essentially, a farm shop but in the setting of a service station. There’s an interesting selection of food & drink there. They’ve been open a couple of years but I’ve never been in before, in part because within 15 miles of home, it isn’t worth stopping at a motorway service station.

I’ve not yet done a short break in the UK this year, but I think post-Norway I will get out and about more in

our own country.

Here is a selection of photos from our day trip to Wales…
