Off to University…

My Room

So I’ve now completed my first week at the University of Gloucestershire in Cheltenham, where on Monday I start my Radio Production course (last week being induction week).

I’m staying in halls for the year, close to the centre of Cheltenham… Living away from home, having to cook for myself, transport myself to and from uni and meeting lots of new people (when I generally like to avoid talking to other people) is a bit strange, but I’m slowly getting used to it.

The new Media Center at Park is great – and there is a lot of green space on the campus, so when the whether’s good and I’ve got some free time I can go and sit outside for a bit. 🙂

I have to say that I’m a bit nervous about the assignments… essays have never been my strong point. But hopefully I’ll get used to this!

I’m home for the weekend now – I can save a bit of money by eating food that Mum’s brougth & cooked. I’ve been very organised in terms of finance – and have even created a spreadsheet to keep track of what’s going in and out of my bank account! Bus service 151 only costs me £1 with my university ID card. 😀

Got me a few days to get Internet access in the halls sorted – but someone from the IT department has sorted it from me now. Hopefully I should find it easier next week – no mobile signal as well meant that I was cut off from the outside world whilst in the halls last week! 😐

Will write soon.
