Ovo Energy has only been up and running since last September, and being based in Cirencester, they attended the Cotswold Show earlier this month.
The company had been taking part in the Barclay’s ‘Take One Small Step‘ competition, and so as part of Corinium Radio‘s ‘Cotswold Show Live‘ programme we interviewed the founder, Stephen Fitzpatrick (photo above); you can hear the interview on the ‘Recordings of My Shows’ page of this website.
And last week, it was announced that the company had won the competition for the South West region, and will as a result receive £50000.
According to the Wilts & Glos Standard website, the money will be invested into a project to improve the accuracy of customers’ bills; it will fund a trial of smart meters.
I wonder if the winning vote came from someone who heard the competition mentioned during the radio broadcast!??
