Last weekend I went on a day trip to Hertfordshire to meet up with an old university housemate of mine. In my second year I stayed in a house of 8 in the middle of Cheltenham. Newark Park, set in the hills looking down on the Severn Valley, is an old Tudor hunting lodge dating back to the 1500s which has been extended several times. It is only about 10 years or so since it was last lived in, so it has quite a homely feel to it, and the rooms inside the house are of a good “home” size. Continue reading

When I made plans for the weekend I kept Saturday and Sunday free. Corrie texted me early Saturday morning wanting to find something to do for the day – We eventually settled on Tintern Abbey and set off for the Welsh border.
