River Walk and Lunch in Ware

What a warm day it has been today – and for the last few weeks!

Last weekend I went on a day trip to Hertfordshire to meet up with an old university housemate of mine. In my second year I stayed in a house of 8 in the middle of Cheltenham. I’m terrible at keeping in touch with people but have tried to get back in touch with a few in the last few months.

So last week I drove off to Ware, a lovely market town in East Hertfordshire, and met up with my friend Meegan. In the warm sunshine we walked along the River Lea before going for some lunch by the river (I had a pizza), then another walk along the river in the other direction, towards the Amwell Nature Reserve: There were lots of birds there, but not being an expert, I can only say they were birds. Not sure which type of birds they were!

2 hours in each direction may seem like a long way to drive for a day trip, but I don’t mind it – In return for good company I think nothing of it. I enjoy the driving. Good bit of music on the radio, and hope the traffic isn’t too bad.

I’m at home this weekend, relatives travelling to me for a change – but next stop will be Pembrokeshire!
