I’ve been doing a lot of baking this year – My main specialities are bread, bread rolls and scones – but occasionally I try something a little more complicated.
Yesterday I made my own sausage rolls (using a puff pastry). The filling was a little bit of Nando’s (mild) sauce, sausage meat, thyme, oregano, basil, chilli powder and grated cheese.
Shame the butter melted out of the dough. Partly my fault as I put the sausage rolls in the oven, but while the oven light was on the actual oven wasn’t. As the oven had already been used recently it was still a little warm. So the dough warmed up allowing the butter to melt out.
Must try harder next time.
