A-Z of My Favourite Holiday Destinations: Krak贸w

The second largest city of Poland, Krakow is located in the Lesser Poland region in the south of the country, on the Vistula river.

When I visited in 2017, it was April. I stayed in a self-catering apartment just off the main market square, Rynek G艂贸wny, with easy access to the city’s shops, restaurants and tourist attractions. The guided tour of the Wawel Royal Castle was a particular highlight.

Using Krak贸w as our base for the weekend we also went on 2 day trips: One was a guided tour of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the other a tour to the Tatra Mountains and Poland’s winter sports capital Zakopane.
