My Saturday night activity was a trip to the Stage Theater am Potsdamer Platz, about a 15 minute walk from the hotel, to see Hinterm Horizont: Das Berlin Musical mit den Hits von Udo Lindenburg.
The headquarters are essentially two buildings: Fernsehzentrum (Television Centre) and Haus des Rundfunks (Broadcasting House). In one building, the TV studios. In the other, the radio studios.
After breakfast at a nearby cafรฉ, I went for a morning walk โ it was a good couple of miles to Alexanderplatz where the Fernsehturm (TV Tower) stands, reaching 368 metres above the ground.

Itโs arrived! The time has come for my visit to the German capital, Berlin. As I write, I am sitting in a hotel room near Londonโs Gatwick Airport, having eaten in the hotelโs restaurant following the drive down from Fairford.
As I write this evening, I am sitting at home after my second day back at work since my trip to Germany.
Yesterday – my last full day in Germany – I decided to do a day trip to Salzburg, just over the German/Austrian border, and just under 2 hours away by train.
Yesterday, my German started coming back to me. It’s very rusty, as I’ve not spoken German properly for 3-4 years.
