Crediton & Killerton, Devon
Tuesday was our last day in Devon and we woke up right in the middle of Storm Bram. This would give us some…..interesting….driving conditions for our journey back home to Cirencester.
I woke up to find our furry friend curled up next to me on the bed – Clearly hadn’t been home and stayed in with us overnight.

After breakfast we packed the car and set off. With the weather being awful, there wasn’t much point in hanging around – which is a shame, because it meant we didn’t see the sea.
We did however stop at Crediton where we stopped for a quick bite to eat in the tea room (we’d not prebooked a cream tea so didn’t get one of those – that makes me think I need to make scones soon). I had a flapjack, very tasty (but big).

Mum and Dad then drove straight home but I decided to stop at a National Trust property on the way back, and headed for Killerton, near Exeter. The house was dressed for a Victorian-style Christmas – I felt it was very atmospheric, seeing the house looking all lovely and festive, good looking Christmas trees in most of the rooms.
Outside there was a Christmas trail of activities to do, based on Christmas traditions around the world. That was a lot of fun. There was also the little chapel out in the grounds, with Christmas trees decorated by different organisations on display.
From Killerton I drove back home to Gloucestershire, getting home before dark.
That’s all of this year’s trips done…. I wonder where I’ll end up in 2026!
FH.
