I returned to Athens mid-afternoon and immediately changed in to shorts and t-shirt: It was quite warm as I walked from the railway station to my hotel.<\/strong><\/p>\n After checking in to the hotel I left my luggage in my room and made my way in to the city centre. I walked from the station at Syntagma to Monastiraki Square, where in a bakery I bought myself some lunch.<\/p>\n Then I headed to a museum: Just a short distance away from Omonia Square lies the Hellenic Motor Museum<\/a>. Spread over three floors at the top of a shopping centre, the museum is home to cars from all over the world including a section dedicaded to Greek-made cars.<\/p>\n Time was getting on by the time I left the museum, so I returned to the hotel to get ready for the evening: a ticket to a screening at the In-Edit film festival<\/a>. I went to the hotel’s rooftop bar for a drink before making my way out.<\/p>\n The film festival venue was the Onassis Cultural Centre<\/a> (known to the locals as \u03a3\u03a4\u0395\u0393\u0397) on Syngrou Avenue – quite a distance from Syngrou-Fix metro station but not too far from Kasomouli tram station.<\/p>\n I went to see a screening of the 2014 film about Edwyn Collins, The Possibilities are Endless<\/a>. Edwyn himself appeared on stage at the beginning of the evening to introduce the film, which is about the recovery from the stroke he had a few years ago. After the film, he was back on stage to sing live for about 30 minutes, which I really enjoyed.<\/p>\n
