We rose early this morning and had breakfast at 8. Shortly after breakfast we headed towards the Metaxourghio Metro Station to get the train to the Acropolis.
The Acropolis is a must-see for anyone visiting Athens. Regular tickets are €20 each; Corrie’s student ticket was free.
The most famous building on the site of the Acropolis is the Parthenon – a building which dates back to 447 BC.
As well as the main Acropolis site, you also have access to the Southern and Eastern slopes of the Acropolis on the same ticket.
We walked straight up towards the Parthenon from the ticket office, and then back down via the slopes.
The views from the top are quite good too!
On the way back down, we stopped at a kiosk to get a drink, then we returned to the hotel to pick up our beach stuff… – Glyfada our destination for the afternoon.
