After the ferry arrived in Scrabster at lunch time I opted for the scenic route to Lairg; I drove part of the North Coast 500 then took an inland route, which meant 40 miles of single track road, with frequent passing places. Continue reading

Today’s main task: To reach John o’Groats. The route took me through the UK’s Northernmost counties – from Strathpeffer in Ross & Cromarty, through Sutherland, and in to Caithness. Continue reading
I continued my journey North East. Effectively following the Great Glen Way (a cycling, hiking and canoe trail), which goes from Fort William to Inverness, the A82 is a great (and very scenic) road. Continue reading
The best part of 120 miles without much in the way of traffic and I did the whole journey from Strathpeffer to Perth without stopping. Would have been quite a scenic drive had it not been dark… Continue reading
