An Afternoon in Hamburg
I walked down Hamburg’s famous Mönckebergstrasse, the big shopping street in the city. From the station it leads down towards the Rathaus – passing many Christmas Market stalls on the way.

My day trip for today was to the nearby city of Rostock – the biggest city in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, located at the mouth of the Warnow river.
After breakfast at the hotel this morning, I headed in to Schwerin’s City Centre and walked through the Altstadt (old town) to the Schweriner Schloß.
After a day of travelling, I have safely arrived in Schwerin – the capital and second largest city of the Federal State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. My hotel room for the weekend is the Hotel “Am Fliederberg”.
