Until a month before my 21st birthday, I had been to Belgium only once before – passing through the country on the motorway while en-route to Boppard-am-Rhein, Germany, on a school trip in the Summer of 2006.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In November 2013, I was lucky enough to be able to visit the country on a trip organised\/hosted by the Conservative MEP Ashley Fox<\/a>. Staying at the Thon Hotel in Brussels City Center<\/a>, we visited the European Parliament building for presentations by Conservative MEPs, before having some free time to explore Brussels in the rain. We had a tour of the Ypres<\/a> Battlefield, enjoyed an excellent meal at the Scheltema<\/a> restaurant, and spent lots of money on Belgian chocolate at P&J’s Chocolate Factory<\/a>.<\/p>\n
