It has been a few weeks since I last wrote on my blog. Things have been so busy with work – and socialising with friends (Naomi, Sophie, Claire and Anne-Marie are the best people I know!); I have not had time to sit and write on my blog for nearly 2 months.
Yesterday I did a day trip to Wales, to visit a National Trust property near Newport. I went to visit Tredegar House to enjoy the building as well as the gardens. The house was owned by the Morgan family for over 500 years, until they left it in 1951. It has been under National Trust management since 2012.
My favourite room inside was the Blue Room…a bit of a navy theme going on in there because of Courtenay Morgan, who served in the Navy. I’d love to have a private study decorated like that!
Some photos from Tredegar are below:

After I left Tredegar House I drove just up the road to Barry Island, for lunch at a cafe on the beach and I had a walk up to the Friars Point headland.
Although the morning had been dry (unusual for Wales), by the time I’d had lunch in Barry it had started raining. I grabbed a hot chocolate to drink before walking back to the car.
It was a busy but lovely day. It is only about 3 weeks before I go on a proper holiday (my first week off since October) when I’ll be going to Cornwall for a few days – in order to pick up my coastal footpath walk.

Have a good rest of the weekend,
FH.
