The Cheltenham Literature Festival took place at the beginning of this month. I always end up spending far too much money on books and it takes me ages to get through them all!
This year I went to 4 of the events… Last Saturday author Victoria Hislop spoke about Greek and Cypriot history in the Spiegeltent, while a fantastic Greek-themed 2 course lunch of Souvlaki followed by Feta & Honey Cheesecake was served.
On Sunday German comedia Christian Schulte-Loh hosted the German Guide to Life – it was very funny to hear him talking about German stereotypes.
A few radio people made appearances as well, the two I went to hear speak were Radio 2 presenters Paul Gambaccini and Bob Harris.
Paul spoke about the 12 months he spent on police bail in 2013/4, while Bob Harris had many stories to tell about his career in radio and on the Old Grey Whistle Test.
I always look forward to the Cheltenham Literature Festival and will be keeping an eye on my e-mails next Summer to see who will be making an appearance in 2016.
