High Profile RSL

DAB Digital RadioWhilst browing the latest radio industry news this morning I was surprised to find out the both Gordon Brown and David Cameron have been supporting a new temporary radio station in Warrington.

Newlove FM is run on behalf of the Newlove Warrington campaign, headed by Helen Newlove who lost her husband Garry Newlove on 12th August 2007 when he was brutally murdered by youths after confronting them about vandalism outside his Warrington home. The campaign is to help provide opportunities for all members of the community and to bridge the gap between generations.

Presenters at the station all appear to be ones with experience in the industry: Dominic Walker (former Wire FM breakfast host) joins the line up whilst breakfast is hosted by Vicky Duncalf and Vic McGlynn host breakfast.

The station is available on 87.7 FM (in Warrington) and runs until July 12.
